Simple Robber Roast Recipe: Tender Beef from the Oven

This Robber Roast is a comforting dish that brings family together with its rich flavors and tender meat. Perfect for cold days, it creates a cozy atmosphere with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ kg beef (chuck)
  • 2 tablespoons mustard
  • 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • Onions as needed
  • Garlic as needed
  • Paprika powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef by making deep cuts in several places. This helps the marinade penetrate and ensures tender meat.
  2. In a bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of mustard, 2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup, 1 teaspoon of paprika powder, and salt and pepper to taste. This mixture is your marinade.
  3. Rub the beef thoroughly with the marinade, ensuring it gets into the cuts. Ideally, let the meat marinate for a few hours or overnight.
  4. Slice the onions and garlic finely and place them in the cuts of the marinated meat.
  5. Place the meat in a roasting bag or a covered pan and add 1 cup of water. This prevents the meat from drying out.
  6. Preheat the oven to 200 °C (392 °F) and roast the beef for about 2 hours. You will notice the meat becoming tender and the aroma filling the kitchen.
  7. After 2 hours, remove the lid or cut open the roasting bag and let the meat roast for another 30 minutes in the oven to achieve a crispy crust. Make sure the meat turns golden brown.
  8. After the cooking time, take the meat out of the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

Nutrition

Keywords: Make sure to marinate the meat well before cooking for the best flavor. At least 2 hours is ideal, but overnight is even better. Use a roasting bag or a well-sealed pan to retain moisture and prevent the meat from drying out.
