- 1 pound (450g) gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Zest and juice of 1 large lemon
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 5 cups fresh spinach (about 4 ounces, packed)
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Set a large pot of water to boil and add a pinch of salt. Once the water is boiling, add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions until they float to the top (usually 2-3 minutes).
- While the gnocchi are cooking, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Wait until the butter is melted and begins to foam.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as it will become bitter.
- Add the peeled shrimp to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes until they are pink and cooked through. Be careful not to overcook them, as they will become tough.
- When the gnocchi are done, use a slotted spoon to transfer them directly to the skillet with the shrimp. The cooking water will help create an emulsified sauce.
- Add the lemon zest and juice, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper to taste. Toss everything well to coat the gnocchi and shrimp evenly.
- Add the fresh spinach to the skillet and stir until just wilted, about 1-2 minutes. The spinach should be bright green and tender.
- Serve the dish immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan and fresh parsley. Enjoy your delicious Lemon Garlic Shrimp Gnocchi!

Keywords: Avoid overcooking the shrimp; they should only be cooked until they turn pink. Use a large skillet to ensure the shrimp cook evenly and have enough space to move around.
